Michael Fisher steers a new direction while giving back

As service-based businesses continue to stray away from the brick and mortar establishments of old, digital & mobile convenience steer the new direction for successful business models. Whether it’s the food delivery boom, or the ridesharing revolution, solving problems for those caught in the daily grind can return nice profits.

Michael Fisher, CEO of Magic Mike’s Mobile Detailing, exemplifies this current entrepreneurial change of pace. For Fisher, the niche of mobile car washing may have been uncharted territory, but the last nine months have proved financial risks related to one’s’ passion are always worth taking. “When I started, everyone in my neighborhood kept telling me that there’s no money in washing cars. But I saw those same people continue to get them washed somewhere, by someone. That’s what let me know, it was worth a shot.”

Some residents in Paradise Hills may have initially seen his venture as a lost cause, but it’s not phasing him in the least, especially when it allows him to be around his passion, automobiles. “Ever since the 7th grade, I wanted to be around the older guys. On my block, they were into cars. Working on engines, that what they had me doing, and that’s when the obsession started.”

And that obsession had led to on building contracts with different organizations, from blue-collar business in Lemon Grove, Car & Bike clubs in Point Loma, and even retired race car drivers in Rancho Santa Fe. To them, he a lifesaver. But to Mike the feeling is mutual, being able to provide an opportunity to young adults, like him in his neighborhood.

With business expanding, Fisher recently purchased two new vans, with the help of some investors. And in the coming weeks, daily business operation in North County seems to be the next move. He’s excited, to take things to the next level. “I’m glad that out here, proving people what they need. And it’s exactly what I’m selling, Convenience. For the blue-collar worker, teacher, car enthusiast, executive.”
