The recent RELAXER scare, which just so happened right before Halloween; is addressed by SDMNEWS legacy publisher and Textured haircare expert and legatee Cheryl Morrow, SDMNEWS editorial team explores, debunks, and delivers epic facts on the matter.
It doesn’t matter if Benjamin Crump and his blind vigilante posse know it or not, this is an attack on Black wealth. SDMNEWS interviewed its publisher which so happens to be the daughter of legendary beauty pioneer Willie L. Morrow; also one of the most provocative publishers in Black media. She told us, “There is no way in hell I will sit back and allow black people to ignorantly drag us into the courtrooms of America, indict the Black Haircare industry, and paint us as predatory. Destroy our legendary industry control, power, wealth, and creativity. Enough is enough! We will not be disgraced, Madam Malone, Madam Walker, and other industry titans built this industry with few dollars and a dream. We will not stand by and watch it be defamed by million-dollar schemes. Black or not Black, there are Black and white cosmetologists who are honorable, professional, and serve this industry well with the utmost integrity; like Ladosha Wright out of Cleveland, Ohio, and Greg Gilmore, who is originally from Cleveland but is presently located in Los Angeles, CA.
The entire editorial team was blown away at the fact of how an industry has been allowed to function with this kind of maleficence. We learned a lot, we hope your eyes will be opened.
